Reality Based Self Defence
Organisation was founded by Garth Barnard in October 2003 as a
non-political organisation with the aim
of providing cutting edge tuition in
KyukTooKi and Combatives. |

KyukTooKi
(Korean Kickboxing) is a total fighting system that
combines traditional and modified Taekwondo kicks, with the low leg
kicks commonly used in Muay Thai. KyukTooKi also uses the four
boxing punches such as the jab, cross, hook and uppercut along with
other hand techniques associated with Taekwondo, such as the ridge hand
and spinning back fist. Muay Thai elbow and knee strikes are also
used, as is the Muay Thai Clinch. And lastly, to complete the
repertoire, KyukTooKi has throws, take-downs, sweeps, locks and chokes
associated with Judo. |

Combatives is a
general term used to describe Military (Hand-To-Hand) Close Quarter
Combat that has evolved since its use during WWII. Reality Based Self Defence
Organisation's Combatives cover all aspects of civilian Self
Protection and Self Defence from Awareness and
Avoidance right through to very simple tried and tested physical
techniques, all of which are drilled and Pressure Tested during one of
our internal Defend You™

News In Brief
Joey Ansah (The Bourne Ultimatum)
Seminar

On Saturday 28th June four members of
Reality Based Self Defence Organisation attended a seminar run by Joey
Ansah, who is best known for playing the character 'Desh' in The Bourne
Ultimatum. The seminar covered screen fighting and choreography,
tricks and acrobatics, conditioning and drills and finally combat/self
defence.
